Savor the Wild!

Delaware Wild Lands'
Wild Game Dinner
Tradition Revived

Delaware Wild Lands (DWL) hosted an unforgettable evening of food, fun, and giving back, reviving our Wild Game Dinner tradition on May 20, 2025, at Cantwell’s Historic Bank Building in Odessa.

Sponsored by Cantwell’s Tavern, Crawford Financial Services, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Jack Lingo Realty, Lucky Poppy Boutique, and Turner’s Creek & Bombay Hook Farms, this year’s wild game dinner was a fun filled night of old and new friends, conversation, excellent dining, and giving back.

Savor the Wild included an amazing five-course dinner with wine and beer parings expertly prepared by Cantwell’s Executive Chef, Zane Dippold and Josh Tucker and their team.

Wild Game was supplied by DWL hunters and supporters. A special thanks to everyone who contributed ingredients for a fantastic dinner!
Our Board of Directors Vice President, Carrie Lingo, set the tone for the evening, thanking everyone for their dedication to conservation, and their support of DWL, toasting success in preserving and restoring the wildlands of Delaware.
Executive Director Marcia Fox presented an overview of the incredible work being done by our DWL team with the help of volunteers and partners across the state of Delaware.
Fundraising included a Silent and a Live Auction. Thanks to all who made generous bids! And thanks to Board Member Peter MacGaffin for serving as our auctioneer.

A very special thanks to the family of Joe Chas for donating a shotgun for the live auction in his memory.  Joe was a proud supporter of of Delaware Wild Lands.  He spent his life enjoying and protecting the natural world, and this donation reflects his commitment to preserving it for future generations.
